Hi!
Where to begin! I've been surrounded by photography my entire life. My family worked in the business, from studios to selling equipment. So, of course, first and foremost as a kid I was a photography subject before I ventured behind the camera. I know what it's like to be on the other side of the lens.
I picked up my first film camera at age 12 and fell in love with creating something out of the ordinary from what appears, on the surface, to be simple. I've had the opportunity to work in a darkroom, processing my negatives and prints with my own two hands. I've worked in a high volume photo lab, processing my own and many others' work.
I want us to have a great time together. I want you to light up when you see your images and know that these photos aren't just snapshots. They are art, they are memories, and they will last forever. Every photograph is tied to the experience of taking it, and I want ours to be a fantastic time, too.
I love clean colors, timeless and effortless poses, depth of field that makes you the star, Mona Lisa smiles, bright sunny days, backlight, moody Rembrandt lighting, silhouettes, lush landscapes, flowers and details, and finding the extraordinary in the simple.
I believe in printing images so they don't rot on a hard drive - or vanish like MySpace.
I believe that moments matter and they should be captured.
You don't realize the power of an image until the time (or the person) is gone.
You are a work of art.
I want you to exist in photos. You deserve to have a relative find your photo in a random box in the year 2150.
